Most UK X users would cheer to the rafters if Donald Trump launched a surgical strike on the House of Commons and sent helicopters to pick up and kidnap Keir Starmer and his wife.

Many would cheer if the one launching the attack was Vladimir Putin.

We’ve allowed this ever since WWII. We’ve ceded our safety to the US, on the understanding that they’d always come to our defence if needed. That assurance was reliant on there not being an outright madman installed in the Oval and there is no contingency

Pretty incomprehensible post by Emmanuel Macron about Venezuela.
No mention of how Maduro was removed.
Nothing about Trump.

If you wanted to do a quick and easy revolution in Venezuela you probably wouldn’t want to tell the country’s population you’re going to steal the only asset it has

It’s worth revisiting this NY Post cover from January 8, 2025 (a year ago), now that Trump is invoking the name “The Donroe Doctrine” to describe his plans.

Spray paint a plane and they'll detain you without trial and call you a terrorist.

Kidnap a foreign head of state - and Keir Starmer will make it clear we've played no part in it but will wait for the scheduled press conference in a few hours before potentially condemning it

now we find out if the rest of the world does anything to stop a rogue state, run by narcissists, rich kids, attorneys & podcasters, treating anything or anyone they want like a piñata - i imagine Starmer is in a meeting now checking with his advisors on best way to avoid upsetting the Daily Mail

From Iceland cricket:

Venezuela has oil.

Greenland has rare Earth minerals.

Luckily Iceland has only volcanoes, glaciers, and very average cricketers.

Farage seems to think that the question Russia and China will ask themselves, about Venezuela, is "are we next on the list?". He's either a fool or a puppet: the question they are asking is "can we get away with this too?".
Farage is a danger to the UK.

With UK far right politicians and activists, who have the ear of Elon Musk, claiming the UK cannot wait until 2029 for Keir Starmer to be removed lest the UK be "lost to Islamists", can we expect Starmer to be the next target for a US special operation?

Reform UK won’t say ‘private’ when talking about the NHS. Richard Tice is calling it ‘independent’:

"Instead of giving £26bn to the already bloated wasteful NHS, we proposed easing pressure on the health service by incentivising those who can afford to pay more to go independent with a tax break."
