So delighted @NVTweeting asked to co-chair one of 4 vision groups, and brilliant they are being framed around the ‘I Statements’ work that’s been led for years by us and TLAP - we are working to ensure a really patient + community centred approach to the #NHS10YRPlan

@nationalvoices.bsky.social + @ipsosintheuk.bsky.social have been asking about people's experiences of NHS + how they align with the 4 "I Statements" used by @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social to frame development of the 10 Yr Plan.

Some big differences emerging for people with Long-Term Conditions.

It was a great thing to be able to host this conversation. ‘Plans don’t change things, people do’, ‘get the basics right’, ‘get local’ and ‘intentionally hear all voices’ and ‘you can’t deal with the NHS in a vacuum from social care’ - wise words from all the panelists!!

3 of my favourite people all in same session about public engagement in the NHS 10 Yr plan.

- Robyn Chappell, @nationalvoices.bsky.social Lived Experience Manager
- @jessiecunnett.bsky.social NV trustee, among other things.
- Louise Ansari, CEO @healthwatchengland.bsky.social

Good luck everyone!

Agree with every word in this comment piece from @jacoblant.bsky.social from @nationalvoices.bsky.social. Good care means not that you can get your diabetic foot amputated quickly, but that you don't need that amputation in the first place. Hence, system working!

1 in 4 patients find errors in their medical records!

Sadly getting these errors/gaps fixed can be a nightmare + places burden solely on patients, when the NHS should be looking to work with people to fix this.

Just heard Department of Health and Social Care are planning to freeze NHS prescription charges for 25/26.

In a time when all other bills are rising, it’s vital that the NHS keeps medication affordable for all - to treat conductions and help people stay well! So this announcement is very welcome!

Yesterday the UK Supreme Court made a big judgement about the definition of sex under the Equalities Act. This has created a climate of uncertainty, confusion and fear among trans member orgs and friends regarding how the NHS will act on this and whether they will continue to get the care they need.
We are aware of the huge emotional and practical impact on trans people yesterday's UK Supreme Court ruling on "biological sex" will have. We know that the Gender Recognition Act says that a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) changes a person's legal sex for all purposes. 1/2
