Slight improvements to waits in Northern Ireland’s A&Es are encouraging, but things still bleak.

- 1 in 5 patients waited 12 or more hours to be discharged, admitted or transferred
- 584 people waited more than TWO DAYS for admission in December

The ease in pressure on EDs over the festive period must be replicated throughout the year to get hospitals back on track.

That's our key message after NHSE's latest figures showed bed occupancy, delayed discharges and ambulance handovers have all degraded significantly.
