Book 3 of 2026: @nassos.bsky.social's Sour Cherry

Dreamlike and somehow both lush and spare at the same time, Sour Cherry is a lyrical novel about a man bringing ruin everywhere he goes--especially to the women in his orbit. If you like the "literary" side of Gothic fairytales, you'll love this.

Book 2 of 2026: @sgj.bsky.social's The Buffalo Hunter Hunter

There was a lot of hype around this one when it came out, but I am here to tell you that it more than lives up to it. Tremendous book, and far stranger than I thought it would be going in. One of the few novels I'd recommend widely.

He talks like a dodgy European neofolk guy

There is a character in my novel that talks like that, and it's supposed to be obvious that he's evil and weird.
Stephen Miller, who wants the U.S. to steal Greenland and shake down Latin America, says: ”We live in a world … that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.”
That‘s a criminal pretending that a civilized world is impossible.

Book 1 of 2026: @joshrountree.bsky.social, The Unkillable Frank Lightning

Killer premise that is absolutely delivered on in the novel: Frankenstein's monster in a Wild West show, hunted by his wife because she wants to end his unnatural existence. I had a TON of fun reading this one!

Today is the last day of Barnes & Nobles' 25% off preorders sale. I just did what I did last year: bought a bunch of stuff i'm excited about, so now I'll be getting one or two books a month throughout the year at a discount as they come out. It's like making yourself a subscription box.

I did so well on some dumb standardized test, after a lifetime of flying under the radar with Bs and Cs, that a teacher confronted me in the hallway, demanding to know how I cheated on the test lol.

NOW we're talking, bro. This is the only way forward. Mass appeal is for lame WotC shit or games with dopey names like "Pathfinder"; the future belongs to the sickos

Tom of Finland's fellas would be holding the setting up with something *else* entirely

Main takeaway: the cover should be some muscled-up beefcakes hoisting your setting on their iron-shod shoulders
