Voted for Trump, now have buyer’s remorse? The Trump philosophy seems to be his version of FAFO. Don’t buy anything on the 28th unless you absolutely have to.

I'm hearing now that *every* technologist CFPB hired to investigate Big Tech was fired this evening. That's somewhere between 70-100 people.

At what point do we call this a constitutional crisis?!

Russell Vought is Trump’s path to authoritarianism.

Musk's reaction to yesterday's protests at Treasury showed power of protesting.

If you don’t stand up for rule of law, nothing else matters. It’s the mechanism of accountability in democracies. If Trump can do anything he wants with shutting down agencies, it’s naive to imagine he will follow the rules in elections and beyond. Preserving rule of law is existential to democracy.

“WE. ARE. AT. WAR. And it echoes in the silence of legacy media, who would rather look away from the crumbling edges of democracy. Trump sold the government to a tech billionaire who has his sights on dismantling federal agencies to enrich himself”—yes, the Nazi salute billionaire.
I am very tired, but wrote this, quickly, to capture what I could since we live in the days of media erasure. Tonight there was a #protest at the #treasury and most #news did not see fit to cover it while it unfolded. I captured posts, video, and quotes as I could--I linked to @indivisible.org

I agree w your 3 points. I also see a few lessons for Americans:

1. Public mass resistance and participation can be powerful and effective, even if disorganized, unplanned and chaotic. Koreans know this from the mass demonstrations in 1980s.

Good read. Tne lessons to learn from South Korea are especially important for Americans now,

bc many of failed policies & approaches of Yoon Presidency, which *led to his desperate imposition of martial law,

exactly mirror policies & approaches that Trumph has said he intends to pursue.
"South Korea’s overnight struggle has reminded the world of a stark truth: democracy is not self-sustaining. It demands vigilance. It requires collective action."

An updated version of my piece has been published on Zeteo.com. Thank you @mehdirhasan.bsky.social for sharing. #SouthKorea #Democracy
"South Korea: The Deeper Story Behind the Unrest"

UMass Amherst's Heesoo Jang writes for Zeteo about how President Yoon's surprise martial law declaration was a culmination of longstanding tensions – and offers lessons on democracy to the rest of the world.

free speech assumes everyone is on a level playing field. That's not the case. let's discuss the drivers making that impossible.

1) Citizens United (2010) allowed limitless dark money to pollute our democracy, not just during campaigns. PACs are impacting all of the media we consume 24 x 7 now
