Democrats are right to deny funding for DHS absent changes that stop this lawlessness and inhumanity. Changes that Americans are demanding.

Let's talk for a second about what has to change - immediately. And why it's so important that we demand these reforms.

I do not just throw out praise for Senate Dem leadership, but this is good. It’s what we need now - Dems using their leverage where they’ve got it and refusing to budge. Make GOP own this lawless goon squad. No Dem votes for it. Support Dems who are fighting back now regardless of past beefs.
Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

What a good man Gov Walz is.
Walz: "To Americans who are watching this, I've got a question for you: What side do you want to be on? The side of an all powerful federal govt that can kill, injury, menace, & kidnap its citizens off the streets? Or on the side of a nurse at the VA hospital who died bearing witness to such govt?"

His personal opposition is irrelevant - his actual job is to unite the House Dems. It ain't over til it's over - now's the time to push for a strategy shift. Call your rep and ask them to:
1) Publicly oppose ICE funding
2) Call on Jeffries to whip the vote

Jeffries Won’t Whip Vote Against ICE Funding - The American Prospect
While the House Democratic leader announced personal opposition to a funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security, he won’t pressure his colleagues to do the same.

Jared Golden sees what ICE is doing to Minneapolis and welcomes the same to his district. I expect that from Republicans. But it's Dems like this that wreck the Party brand and make it harder for us to win. Thankfully he understands his limitations and is throwing himself out of politics.

Primary ALL of them.

Supporting violent, masked state police is inexcusable, especially after all the videos have shown them to be domestic terrorists who constantly ride roughshod over both people and the Constitution.
NEW: The House just passed the DHS funding bill. Seven Democrats voted yes:

Henry Cuellar of Texas
Jared Golden of Maine
Laura Gillen of New York
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington State
Don Davis of North Carolina
Tom Souzzi of New York
Vincente Gonzalez of Texas

Yesterday, the House passed a bill to fund DHS, including
$$$$100milns+ more for ICE.

This bill increases the funding for their brutality.

The Senate votes on this bill next week - it cannot pass without Dem votes. Call your senators, demand they vote no.

This could be the unified Dem position. It is wildly popular. Puts the regime on defense on two fronts at the same time. Good policy, good politics.
