Had a Haitian Uber driver on the way out of Indy who drove me to the airport. Sweet woman. Ended up telling me she was detained for an entire week back in March over questions about her citizenship. She only had her driver’s license on her at the time.

This an important point, one I've tried to make when pushing back on the false claim that deaths of Dems made it possible to pass the Big Ugly Bill.

Losing elections did.

STOP blaming dead Democrats for what live GOPers did. You'll NEVER fix the problem if you do that.
By all means be mad at us anytime you want, doubtless we deserve it. But in 2017 pretty much everyone correctly blamed Trump and Republicans for trying to kill the ACA, it was important for what happened next. They passed this bill. I would simply hold them accountable for their actions

This is an amazing article abt an amazing breakthrough use of an old and discredited drug and about how one company was able to raise the price without limit because it was the only treatment for a fatal disease and they cld basically raise it to as high a price as they wanted.
I have written many healthcare stories, but never before have I written about my own health. I decided to do so after learning one of my drugs costs nearly $1,000 a pill and just 25 cents to make. What I found was an incredible story of discovery and exploitation. www.propublica.org/article/revl...
The Price of Remission
When I was diagnosed with cancer, I set out to understand why a single pill of Revlimid cost the same as a new iPhone. I’ve covered high drug prices as a reporter for years. What I discovered shocked ...

NEW -- Donald Trump is selling access to himself tonight to those who spent a total of $192 million to buy his souvenir crypto coin, which has an intrinsic value of exactly zero.

No, you are not allowed to know the names of the attendees.

Yes, it's as corrupt as it sounds.

I wonder how many Americans realize that Bribery is one of just two impeachable offenses specifically enumerated in the United States Constitution and the case that Donald Trump has now committed that crime dozens of times in his second term is a legal slam dunk.

So shall we get started?

So two elections, in countries among America's closest (erstwhile) allies, and the center-left parties not only beat the center-right party but the center-right opposition leaders lost their own seats. In Australia I guess not as exclusively abt Trump as in Canada. But still a big, big factor.

Personally, I think it should be front page news for at least a month if a sitting US President is using falsified evidence to try and deny due process to a man who has committed no crime, but that’s just me

If Trump can disappear legal residents without due process, what’s to stop him from doing the same to U.S. citizens who oppose him?

Either everyone has due process — or no one does.

Yesterday, President Biden finalized a rule to remove medical debt from the credit reports of millions of Americans.

The number of Americans with medical debt on their credit reports will be zero — down from 46 million right before he took office.

Why isn’t anybody talking about this?
