My grandfather was also a citizen living in Hawaii. He took up the fight as an American countryman.

I am not sure if it was to stay out of the intermittent camps America was sending Japanese citizens to or not...

When I was boarding a plane in the US yesterday, there were two ICE officers at the entrance of the jet bridge (after the boarding pass check and the facial scan). I'd never seen that before.
