This is a lot of fun to listen to. These guys have never read any Dredd before, but they’re pretty smart so they get a decent handle on it. Fascinating to hear a fresh-eyed perspective on Dredd.

(The sound quality for one of the hosts is a bit rough on this episode, unfortunately. Whaddayagonnado)
NEW EPISODE! We dive headfirst into Judge Dredd with the epic “Necropolis” storyline. Sci-fi satire brushes up against supernatural horror, and everything in Mega City One gets flipped upside down.

YES!!! Spider-Man makes his annual appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. When are we getting a Scarlet Spider balloon? 😄

MJ looks strangely happy for someone who presumably cooked this huge turkey for hours only to have her husband spray it with some weird synthetic polymer adhesive.
Happy Thanksgiving!

In case you missed it, Cameron Kunzelman joined us on our most recent episode to talk about The Authority. We talked about (among other things) the power of images like the one below to express ideas that the script might not always be up to…

A movie that takes place where you’re from.

With a twist: left film, filmed but not set; right film, set but not filmed

What’s fun about old Marvel comics is that the signs and ads you see while Spider-Man’s swinging around NYC become a time capsule. This is from Amazing Spider-Man #245, published of course in 1983.

Look, people are saying they’re having a hard time figuring out how to do a new James Bond movie. I think you could do a lot worse than whatever this is!

A comic I am not going to draw. Single-panel gag.

The Brigadier from Doctor Who passes a pair of co-workers, one of whom whispers conspiratorially to the other: “You know, that new girlfriend of his is his best friend’s ex…”
