Pew Research Institute (2023):

• Red State Texas has about 2.1 million undocumented immigrants

• Red State Florida has 1.6 M undocumented immigrants

• Blue State Minnesota has 130,000.

And yet only Minnesota is being occupied by masked thugs over "immigration."

It's *not* about immigration.

The fate of the planet’s coastlines depends on how fast Antarctica’s ice sheets melt. We don’t know what’s coming
Some regions of the continent have enough ice to push up sea levels by 15 metres if they all melt, but researchers don’t yet fully understand the consequences

Right on schedule. I’m old enough to remember when we set “aggressive” sustainability goals for 2020 to avert the impact we knew was coming by 2025. Then industry said, not so fast, maybe we can reduce emissions by 2030. Then it was, no, maybe 2050….
Melting glaciers, coastal areas wiped off the map and regular 40C heat in Europe. #Climate experts warn the gloomy predictions of long-term environmental change are no longer the future - they are already here.

Today, 17 January 2026, the BBNJ Agreement enters into force. 🎉👏

#BBNJ creates a long-awaited legal framework to protect marine biodiversity across nearly half of our planet, strengthening ocean governance, enabling marine protected areas, and safeguarding the high seas for future generations.

I think it would be a good idea for D politicians to be declaring this publicly, pre-emptively. They should state it as an abstract, legal proposition: an order by the President to seize Greenland would be unlawful, here's why. Trump does not have the legal right to attack a NATO ally. Say it.
If the U.S. military is given direct orders to seize Greenland—pull down another nation’s flag, and then claim the ground in the name of the United States—every senior commander has a moral obligation to refuse to accept or support such a command.

Investigating elected officials for speech is not law enforcement but intimidation. If governors and mayors can be investigated for criticizing federal actions, neither elected officials nor anyone else is truly free to speak. #holdfast

Koh: Trump has now spent $30 billion from the last bill for 10,000 more I.C.E. Agents that are going to be on the streets. That $30 billion would cover all the ACA subsidies for a year. It would eliminate all co-pays for prescription drugs for people from a year, and eliminate all medical debt.

Photo of the Day.

Around HALF of Greenland’s adult population is believed to have attended anti-Trump protests today.

This photo was taken by Sean Gallup for Getty Images. It captures the thousands who gathered in the capital Nuuk, to reject Trump’s threats to take the island.

There is no greater love than to love your neighbor... it's love as a verb.

And one day, maybe not in our time, but if we do the work... one day...

Would you be?

This isn't about protection.
Or immigration.
Or policy.
Or crime control.

It's about fear, violence, brutality, repression, and control.

Stand up and speak out.

"While senior administration officials spoke of 'invasion,' 'irregular warfare,' and 'narco-terrorism,' field-level reporting consistently portrayed Tren de Aragua in the US as a fragmented, profit-driven criminal group, with no indication of centralized command"
BREAKING: Hundreds of sensitive U.S. records obtained by WIRED undercut the Trump administration’s claims portraying Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua as a unified terrorist force invading the country. Intelligence agencies spent much of 2025 unsure TdA even functioned as an organization on U.S. soil.

This isn’t just Trump speaking off the top of his head. The idea that white men are the primary victims of discrimination in the U.S. is driving administration policy.

Trump’s claim that, as a group, white men are discriminated against in higher education and the job market is flatly false.
The truth about being a white man in America
In an interview last week with reporters from the New York Times, President Trump claimed that the civil rights movement resulted in discrimination against white men.
