So funny story about just going for it, I saw Kara musing about a Magica Riot audiobook and just kinda took a shot via DM by sending my demo and asking if she'd be willing to work with me. And it worked out so well! I love getting to read her work and bring it off the page and into your ears.
Yes! Working with Emma on the Magica Riot audiobook was my first experience working with a voice actor. When I got audio back and heard all the fun, interesting choices she'd made in bringing the characters to life, I was DELIGHTED.

someone asked me literally yesterday if I could use AI for voice acting for Waifu Death Squad since there are so many speaking parts, and my response was "why would I want to do that? Working with actors is the fun part, because they'll surprise you with their line reads or dialogue tweaks."

Am now a good 600 words deeper into this final chapter and demanding my characters reckon with their own conditioning.
This Theriya chapter is a very satisfying piece so far on being mindful of everyone's limits. Especially of disabled characters.

Ugh, editing that 1477 words down from a little over 2,000 took what felt like 2 long and agonizing hours.
But damn it, I want this book to fucking mean something and say it out loud instead of letting it be subtext. This is the last chapter of the book. We're getting this right, damn it!

Unlimited Combat Dolls is, at least in the beginning, a revenge story. Dragonfly can't conceive of a scenario where killing someone or breaking something is not the way forward, and even if she's largely right about the world and the people in it, she'll burn herself to nothing in the pursuit.
