Take the wedding rings? Gold fillings? Does this remind anyone of anything?
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

To suggest that having lived a life so grim that even an English tribunal will grant you asylum, and to have somehow managed to get here at great risk to life, is a "golden ticket" is absolutely fucking contemptible. Shame on this so-called Labour Party.
No, I'd say it's racists and those pandering to them.

Watching a number of Labour supporters defend Mahmood and this government over their sickening anti-immigration/asylum rhetoric when they would have been hollering against it if it was the Tories or Reform saying it. It doesn't matter which party it is doing this, it should be condemned. 1/
Very long thread: As with many of Labour's anti-immigration policies, this isn't new. British police have been stationed in other countries for this purpose for a long time
It does however show how Labour is pushing more on anti-immigration than previous governments. 1/

Hugely concerning that govt is considering slashing funding for desperately needed home insulation to cut bills in the short term. It’s vital to protect the Warm Homes Plan for long term investment to fix poor housing. Why not use a wealth tax to cut energy bills instead, Rachel?

Nigel Farage currently railing against Parliament being full of "professional politicians".

He founded UKIP in 1993 and was first elected as an MEP in 1999, twenty-six years ago. Less than 5% of current MPs (31 to be precise) have a longer career in politics than Farage. ~AA

I think that
@BBCNews
,
@SkyNews

@ITVNewsPolitics
and
@Channel4News
should all be reporting on Reform UK and Russian bribery.

RT if you agree!!

Why are the media ignoring such a blatant story?!

1/ This speech made by Farage in September 2014, after Russia's first invasion of Ukraine, is a stream of Russian propaganda lies that could have come from Lavrov's mouth.

Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA is an extremist hate group. Its primary strategy is “sowing and exploiting fear that white Christian supremacy is under attack by nefarious actors, including immigrants, the LGBTQ+ community and civil rights activists.”

Founded by Charlie Kirk, TPUSA’s effort to sow fear and division to enforce social hierarchies rooted in supremacism is emblematic of broader political project.

So today I have realised that @news.sky.com are just a mouthpiece for reform it’s not a serious news channel. This debate has been an utter disgrace and everyone should be ashamed
September 10, 2025 at 6:55 PM
Good grief I am astounded at the stupidity of the audience questioning (save for one sensible one so far) third question is more right wing bullshit about taxpayers money, @news.sky.com also seem to be going out of the way to voice the reform wing nut yet stop any other people
September 10, 2025 at 6:33 PM
My god the first question on the @news.sky.com debate is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard and the labour minister and rest of the panel all agree, and Phillips keep spinning the myth about safe countries utter utter joke. This is just a racist dog whistle of a program
September 10, 2025 at 6:21 PM
It does appear that the entire premise of tonight’s immigration debate on @news.sky.com is the premise that they want to encourage racism and hatred of minorities and migrants. They are fully pushing the far right agenda no real opposition no other point of view.
