I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset.
In 2001 I married my wife, Sylvia.
In 2005 I started medical transition. (1/13)

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

It should be John Barry but seems to be Shed Seven
I love how certain cities hold their most iconic musicians as patron saints and part of the city's identity. Minneapolis has Prince. We in Austin Have Willy. New Orleans has Dr. John.

Genuinely curious: Who is your city's musical patron saint?

Tell me you're middle aged without telling me you're middle aged: renewing my HRT prepaid prescription certificate at an afternoon punk gig holding a plastic cup of wine.

At a Shonen Knife gig in Sunderland (they're one at 3:30). I feel so young. There's a group of old men in 40th Anniversary t-shirts who have brought chairs through from the cafe next door.

The amazing detail in this story is this lad's neighbour frantically whistling to try and draw the ship's attention to the dangerous local hazard known as [checks notes] Norway.

If it hadn't noticed houses are generally stand on vessels a bit of whistling probably ain't going to do it, fella.

I’ve never seen it put so succinctly before! Even as a disabled person myself, I struggle a lot with internalized ableism.

These 12 all two common narratives about disability can be difficult to unlearn, but that work is important.
