This year for #IWD2025 we're doing something a little different. A lunchtime pop-up "safe space" ride around the city centre on Monday 10th March. We'll start outside the City of Edinburgh Council's offices at Waverley Court on East Market Street at 12:30. Bring your noodles!

Out with the @infrasisters.bsky.social last night, campaigning for better cycle infrastructure for women. Riding along Grassmarket, conscious that we first passed the place where a cyclist was choked by an angry motorist, then the narrow crowded pavements where a pedestrian was killed by a coach.

I hate when she comes home and gives me gory details of near misses with buses, male arseholes giving her grief and the general shitness of it all in Edinburgh. Forrest Rd, Cowgate rammed with cars, panzers, trucks. Massive disincentive for so many people wanting to ride in the city, especially women and children. We need to do better and faster.
