😂 What a very British protest - radio DJ doing a 24-hour marathon playing hits that only reached number 2 in the charts, to highlight the 'Number Twos' discharged in sewage into Lake Windermere.

A thank you to Rev Bob Henderson, Chaplain to the Forces, for a moving and thoughtful memorial service this morning. It was lovely to see such good attendance with everyone paying their respects. Ray Donnelly laid a wreath on behalf of LCC and looked impeccable doing so.

Now the mattress has gone we’ve raised a job to have the area cleaned and the actual rubbish that is blowing everywhere removed. Efficiency saving opportunities are abundant in how CEC manage the environment. Where’s Elon when you actually need him? Ref: 102000005105

Good news we received today is that planning permission has been granted for the development of the community micro-hub next to the Greenway Garden on the Murrayburn side. Thanks to everyone who commented, both positively and those who raised concerns. 🙏 Work now continues on funding the project.

- Residents incredulous that again the hedge completely blocking a Redhall Grove school pavement has still not been cut back by @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social . Shameful the amount of time and resource our community & @rosssmckenzie.bsky.social have spent chasing! Just get it cut already. 🤬🤬/5

- Bollards/tactile paving/red coloured chips coming to vehicle entrance to school to highlight priority to school pupils. Incredibly @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social cannot paint a zebra crossing here because of @transportscotland.bsky.social policy. Totally Nuts! 👎/3

Perfect? No, but it was never going to be. However observations from walking about are:
👍 overwhelming majority of households across the Redhall/Longstone area have not set off fireworks this year and that reflects on our community well. 👍 /1

The section at Redhall Drive/Gardens has been identified after a request from a local school, for the road markings to be refreshed, as they have bikeability sessions at this location. The carriageway will need to be repaired in advance of this.”/2

Additional clarity - why this section of Redhall Drive has been marked up. Seems we have the young cyclists to thank on this occasion. “Process of marking up locations for patching has only just begun, so there will be many more streets inspected & added to our works schedule in the coming months./1
Update from Road Team:
We will be carrying out permanent carriageway repairs in Redhall, Longstone and various others locations in the South West locality, starting in January. The works at Redhall will most likely be in February to tie in with the school holidays.

To think of this man

In his hospital bed,

Watching the hate-filled racism oozing across the media,

Talk of 'Britishness', and panning 'immigrants', demanding the race of the attacker be revealed,

Never once demanding the ethnicity of the brave man who saved dozens of lives
