Democrat @raskin.house.gov excoriates Nigel Farage for banning journalists from Reform UK events:

"I'm asking you a direct question. Why do you ban journalists who oppose your views from coming to your events? Why did you tell local government not to do interviews with your local newspaper?"

Negotiations have been underway for some time and there is confidence all round that fish will not be an obstacle to a UK-EU defence agreement.
"The French position, restated during the EU ambassadors’ discussion on Friday, is that any push by the UK to renegotiate the level of EU access to British fishing waters would cloud the broader negotiations, including on defence." www.ft.com/content/34cc...

This is an indication of the kind of political consensus that can be built if Labour makes the right case for breaking its red lines: Uniting right wing concerns about defence & patriotism, left-wing demands for investment & independence from the US, and widely-shared commitments to Ukraine.

Wanting the PM to NOT be cautious at such a critical moment is incredible to me. Wanting him to always add heat, escalate the rhetoric, make strident media statements before thinking them through *is the Trump way*. This may be less satisfying to you, but it is a better way to protect a country. 2/2

Ok folks, deep breaths.

There is very real reason to worry about the dynamic emerging between Washington and Moscow when it comes to Ukraine. But there is also very real reason to believe that Ukraine and Europe can create a better outcome.
