Herzog protests. Medics attacked too, lawyers question police violence - Michael West
Monday's police actions against anti-genocide protestors in Sydney represent a significant escalation of unwarranted violence.

State police were founded to round up and kill my people. Australia is still a dinky little colony and media has been protecting cops since colonisation.
I very genuinely do not think that Australia's media industry can be classified as any other than fully supportive of police violence, because you have to actively, consciously and knowingly work to frame what happened as general "violence mars protests" rather than "police violently attack protest"

Trying to shame the Government by pointing out its hypocrisy re: social cohesion isn't going to achieve anything. They do not have any shame. They respond only to the masses, to force, to power, and material rebellion. To be openly hypocritical is just another enjoyable powerplay

Don't believe lies being told by police and politicians today. We all saw the footage and heard eye-witness reports of extreme police violence in NSW yesterday. Copsbeating and arresting citizens, while a visiting war criminal and
génocidaire gets VIP treatment. They lie and they lie and they lie

We knew from the moment we heard it that “social cohesion” would be one of those Orwellian terms which would be used to cover all manner of state sanctioned abuse and deprivation of civic freedoms.
It fuels the very unrest it pretends to seek to quell.

If we are going to ban symbols and phrases because of 'social cohesion' then we really should start banning some moustaches too.

The NSW police force were founded on genocidal slaughter. Their primary role is maintaining the colony's grip over Indigenous land, and they are gleeful at the opportunity to openly return to their proud traditions of colonial violence.

FRANTZ FANON: Once colonialism has realized where its tactics of social reform are leading, we see it falling back on its old reflexes, reinforcing police effectiveness, bringing up troops, and setting a reign of terror which is better adapted to its interests and its psychology.

the police presence at Town Hall is unfuckingbelievable. They are deep inside the station, stopping and searching people at the top of the stairs from the platform. Absolutely off the charts I have never seen anything like it and I have protested for over 40 years.

Blaming the 'Zionist Lobby' for everything is a safety blanket for settlers unwilling to confront the colonial reality they live in. We weren't 'betrayed' - we just have greater insight into this barbaric system now thanks to the labour and blood of millions of Indigenous people who have exposed it

It also quite literally is the same rhetoric that Bibi the Butcher uses to justify the genocide, “the children of light will prevail”; it’s absolutely revolting that it is being used here as a pseudo-religious call to fight the demonic “Other”.
and this “light fights darkness” is a dumb and ugly metaphor. There is no light without dark. There is no inherent moral wrong in darkness. As an either/or proposition, light <or> dark makes no logical, allegorical, or moral sense. It does point to an adversarial, controlling culture.
