Until you’ve participated in union contract negotiation it can be hard to conceptualize that an owner or manager would care more about screwing their workers than keeping a business profitable or indeed open at all, but it’s actually not so uncommon!

Obviously this doesn’t make sense empirically (Housing First is proven!) or grammatically (they are now literally housed?) but it makes sense if you understand “homelessness” as referring to a racialized surplus population

Eh it’s an argument I see a lot. Wild misspecification of what the humanities are leads to (well meaning) defenses that draw on morality and ethics. Of course humanities aren’t a bulwark against fascism. It is that eliminating them is evidence of fascism. That’s the point.
