I sometimes run episodes of In Search Of… on YouTube while I fall asleep.

I don’t know how Leonard Nimoy delivered lines like “some scientists predict this rare alignment of the sun, moon and Earth will cause a chain of devastating earthquakes” with a straight face.

Also, isn’t that an eclipse?

Sal Busema has died at the age of 89, a comic legend at least to me, he never got the strong critical acclaim of guys like Jack Kirby, but if your the right fan you know how good he was, and if nothing else, I'm going to miss the way he drew punches in comics.

when people would license lou reed’s “perfect day” for a tragic or violent scene in a film, he’d become outraged. “that song was about a perfect day, not a bad one!”

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

There may be some niche examples somewhere, but I cannot think of any system, natural or human-made, that isn't strengthened by more diversity. Ecology, biology, economics, politics, agriculture... am I missing anything?
This lesson is reflected everywhere and in everything.

Alex Pretti was an American hero. He saved lives. He protected people. He cared deeply about his community, unlike the murderous thugs who killed him.

The very last thing he did was try to help a woman who had been pepper-sprayed and violently shoved to the ground by ICE. 1/
