In a flurry of terrible news, I am so grateful for this op-ed.

Growing up evangelical it was obvious to me that the church was wrongfully and willfully withholding love and compassion from any number of communities. An issue that for some has only gotten worse and more entrenched with time.

Being PTA Co-President at a school with a significant immigrant population, a lot of lgbt+ families, and a large federal employee population is an amazing cocktail of anxiety on top of the normal PTA stuff.

I believe in the power of community, education, and an ample supply of juice boxes.
