My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

A downtown #Minneapolis #Costco may kill downtown #Target. But it would be totally viable. Put it in #CityCenter, multiple floors of space available and parking adjacent. Use the basement (formerly Filene's/Marshalls) and the top two levels (formerly Donaldson's/Carson Pirie Scott). Good to go.

In most cities, Costco stores fuel sprawl & car dependency.
In Vancouver, our full-sized downtown Costco has residential towers above & a skytrain station next door. LOTS of customers don’t drive to it.
We live a block from it. We call it “the convenience store.”

I want more priority from my City Council in #Minneapolis on #TrafficEnforcement & #TrafficControl within the City. "Twenty is Plenty" signs don't do anything. There can be more creative approaches and a concerted effort to deprioritize #Cars place priority on #Pedestrians. #CarsAreWeapons
Again, this is a planning and prioritization problem. We prioritize dangerous cars, trucks and drivers. Yes Minneapolis and Saint Paul have some cool safety programs underway. Yes there are a few curb separated bike lanes. But where is our leadership? Why is the safety of children an afterthought?
Pretty awful experience to start the week. A few months ago, Henry & I were talking about spring, and I told him we could walk to school (daycare, he's 3) sometimes. Starts off great. Idyllic Minneapolis spring morning, perfect weather, lots of antholes, even checked on the lost Jamison Whiting sign
