I’m really quite surprised at the BBC website today. ‘Here is a video, some people say it does not show what it very obviously shows’ is not how you report this.

Italian voice actor Carlo Bononi was the voice of all of the characters on Pingu. A trained clown by trade, he used a theater technique called grammelot, which consists of "speaking" in a mix of babbled gibberish noises. He improvised all the voices live and unscripted.

This one guy and his mates were the source for a massive chunk of all that terrifying media coverage you read, and that’s been public knowledge since about 2021. It is IMO helpful for the more lib audience of Bluesky to hear about this, because you better believe standards have not improved since.

of the tributes to Andrew Clements, think this one has a particular resonance. Was struck by how much clarity he found in describing contemporary music in particular. Modernist prose, never overly florid or unnecessarily verbose. Surely influenced so many committed to writing about tough music!

Shamima Begum was the beginning of something in so many ways, one of which was 'the last government's inability to just do its job properly (in this case by passing legislation that would have allowed it to prosecute her here at home) and instead going 'no option but to undermine all our rights'.
There should be literally no circumstances, ever, where citizenship is can be revoked. If you literally sign up to fight for an opposing army in a war, then we should prosecute you for treason not revoke citizenship

I already agree with this in principle - citizenship is an untouchable status or it is nothing - but also for reasons of prudence. “The Home Sec can revoke citizenship when he/she deems someone’s online output sufficiently offensive” is a v dangerous precedent to set with Reform leading all polls.
