Bravo for this lawsuit.

“…an unprecedented lawsuit in the UK and globally…the first civil claim to directly link polluting companies to deaths and personal injuries that have already happened...”

You’re not alone if you care about what’s happening with climate change. If you’re feeling disheartened because you feel that no one cares, know that 65% of Americans are at least somewhat worried. It often doesn’t feel that way since a similar percentage doesn’t talk about climate, but it’s true!
Yale researchers didn't stop there. They also identified what people most need to know to catalyze action and support climate policy; and it's not about global temps, ice sheets, or ocean currents.

What people most need to know about climate change is that (1) others care, and (2) there is hope.
Understanding six “key truths” about climate change predicts policy support, discussion, and political advocacy

Actually, children’s mental health would improve if kids were valued in this country. Therapy isn’t the problem.

➡️ Choose kids over guns.
➡️ Stop destroying nature, so kids can have free play outside.
➡️ Choose kids over fossil fuel addiction.

AT A MINIMUM.

Gov’t can’t have it both ways: Either it supports people or it supports oil companies. Those are mutually exclusive categories.

It’s painful to lose a therapist, but it’s made better when the therapist has made plans for such circumstances, as I learned when my own therapist handled it all with candor and grace. Thanks to @ellenbarry.bsky.social at @nytimes.com for writing this important piece and for including me.

65% of Americans are at least somewhat worried about climate change—worries that are based on facts. Trump-EPA’s plan reflects an administration/leader in thrall to fossil fuel money and w/ no qualms about causing suffering. Sadism loves power and has no empathy.

We’re embedded in a system that makes us reliant on fossil fuels even as we grieve the devastating deaths in Texas. It’s a lot to hold and to handle. I wrote my second Substack about it, and I hope you’ll check it out.
