The problematic nature of Penn’s institutional “neutrality” aside, I’m grateful for your choosing your public scholarship and outreach over being vice provost, and for your being the kind of person who would make that choice. Thank you. Our country and world needs you in these roles.

Being siloed here on Bluesky is definitely an issue, agreed. I hope the public health messaging by orgs (all of them, not just APA) will reach some people and break through.

It’s so important to share those joys and to cultivate that connection with the natural world—thank you for doing that for them. Always important to nurture that, but especially so in an age where there’s so much disconnection from it. And what we love, we want to protect.

The relevant lobby here is the fossil fuel lobby, and its money is the reason for politicians’ support for fossil fuels. Big Oil gave Trump and Republicans $450M in the last election. Agree with you on solar panels needing to be absolutely everywhere.

Absolutely yes, I get it. Can feel like a drop in the bucket sometimes but every bit of good, including posting truth, matters in this world.
