Remember what matters. Our lives are short, but the future stretches out forever.
Everyone says "take care of yourself" but in my view, frankly, that is a juvenile approach to life. Take care of your children, of all children, of the future. Deprioritise your "self."
Their future is in our hands.

Algerian parliamentary bill 'lists the “crimes of French colonisation”, which include nuclear tests, extrajudicial killings, “physical and psychological torture” and the “systematic plundering of resources” and declares French colonization (1830-1962) a crime.

Yes, the sooner this happens, the better.
UN’s Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese:

“I truly hope that people will stay calm, will not panic, and will remember that the international community is made of 193 states, and this is the time to give the US what it has been looking for – isolation!”

MLK JR

Not much has changed.
This Christmas I find myself thinking about Martin Luther King Jr. In late 1963, after his near death experience in a brutal prison, and before fame, he was asked by a reporter "how does your story end?"
He said, "it ends with me getting killed."

Bush started it with the illegal invasion of Iraq, as described in the 2006 book Lawless World, by Phillippe Sands. He did it for the oil.

Trump is attacking Venezuela. Why? Oil.

Big oil backed Trump's first presidency, and this one.

You could almost say oil killed international law.
Into the void: how Trump killed international law
The rules-based global order, its institutions and value system face a crisis of legitimacy and credibility as the US turns away

This struck me too. As Anne Applebaum doesn’t mention, she wrote a classic history of the Gulag.
The CBS investigation portrays a modern concentration camp, similar to the Soviet GULAG (like CECOT, an acronym): sadistic guards, 24 hour lighting, isolation cells.
Americans once opposed this inhumane system.
The Trump administration sent innocent people there to suffer.

so it seems people have been able to download volume 8 of the Epstein files, which can also be partially unredacted, and - has emails talking about 10 co-co-conspirators..
After only releasing 7 data sets, Voidzilla/Coffeezilla on YouTube along with the guys at Jmail, & DropSite News got access to volume 8.

If you think the incompetence of the FBI & DOJ was bad up until now, this is an astounding amount of ineptitude as to how this set was so easily accessed.
they accidentally leaked new epstein files, and it's really bad...

How have only Epstein and Maxwell been prosecuted for the biggest human trafficking scheme in modern U.S. history?

The answer is pretty simple: Pam Bondi knows she can’t go after Epstein’s co-conspirators because they possess damning information on Donald Trump.

It's snowing in Washington. I guess you gotta drown the pain of selling out somehow..
yeah I mean it’s genuinely sad that the “reasonable old school” Republican (who Dems eagerly and unanimously voted to confirm) is out here doing pressers blatantly geeked out coke and it’s not subtle

No. You can’t solve the health fall out from uncontrolled circulation of a novel virus and a poorly managed pandemic by flogging people harder to get back to work.

IMHO, you can’t understand what’s happening to the US if u don’t know about the “network state” movement & its “parallel establishment” strategy, which includes building “parallel societies” (w/ their own physical territories) & “parallel institutions” in media, education, finance, science, etc. 1/

A few oil co's in Canada have millions of carbon credits, which could be worth billions.

What a waste of three decades. In the 90s we talked about regulation: rules!

Big oil countered with "market mechanisms," and enough enviros bought it, which got us here.

We still need rules.
Carney’s pipeline deal is set to create a carbon-credit windfall in the oilsands - The Logic
Suncor, CNRL and Cenovus have stockpiled huge inventories of carbon credits. Now, Alberta’s pipeline deal with Ottawa could ratchet up their value.

Here in the U.S. we have serious Supreme Court envy.
New Zealand's top court finds climate change must be considered in issuing oil and gas tenders because:
- climate is a big concern to NZ
- NZ has committed to reduce emissions
- oil and gas cause emissions

Seems obvious! But NZ is way ahead of Canada on this.
