House Republicans just gave mining companies the green light to dine & dash on our public lands. While mining companies extract our resources at bargain basement prices, Republicans are leaving the American people with the bill for costly mining pollution, toxic drinking water, & health problems.

The Boundary Waters is an economic engine for northeastern Minnesota, driving a $13B domestic tourism industry. America's most visited wilderness belongs to the American people, not to corporations that want to strip our public lands of its natural resources to be shipped abroad.

SEEC's Building Resilient Housing Task Force, led by @congressmin.bsky.social & @repjohnnyo.bsky.social, endorsed bills that tackle the dual crisis of housing affordability & an accelerating climate crisis in America. Access to safe, high-quality, & attainable housing should be a fundamental right.

Today, SEEC's @casten.house.gov, @levin.house.gov, @menendez.house.gov, @repstansbury.bsky.social spoke at the Capitol on the 1-year anniversary of Trump’s broken promise to slash energy bills in half. Trump & his Republican majority in Congress have only made America more expensive & less safe.

America’s Roadless Rule turns 25 today. For a quarter of a century, this effective & widely supported conservation policy has served the American people by protecting 58 million acres of pristine national forestland. We must allow these forests to remain wild and free.

On Jan. 1, over 20 million Americans saw their health insurance costs spike. After months of stalling, the House has finally passed a Dem proposal to extend ACA health care subsidies.

The Senate must take up and pass this legislation immediately.

President Donald Trump sent a dangerous signal to the global community that America is withdrawing from its role as a world leader, leaving America weaker, poorer, and more unsafe than ever before. Climate change does not respect borders, and we cannot address this crisis alone.

Electric bills are up 13% this year. Every major utility in Florida is increasing their rates in 2025 and 2026. Does he think we don't notice?

Even Republicans are acknowledging the administration’s assault on renewable energy is driving up utility bills for working-class families.

The president should stop catering to his Big Oil donors and start working to lower energy costs for American households.

A group of moderate Republicans have warned for months that their party’s plan to eliminate clean energy tax credits would contribute to utility bills skyrocketing.

Trump’s proposed offshore drilling plans would irreparably harm our tourism economy, coastal ecology, and our community. My constituents don’t want oil rigs on their beaches, and I’m doing everything I can to stop that from happening.

This week, House Republicans passed a partisan bill that attempts to streamline federal permitting for polluters. If we want to be serious about a bipartisan effort to build America’s future, Republicans have to learn how to stand up against Trump’s all-out war on affordable clean energy.

The cheapest, most reliable forms of energy are also the cleanest. Yet, House Republicans attempted to force aging & expensive power plants to stay online at the expense of American ratepayers. It’s far beyond time for an approach to energy policy that puts American consumers first.

Trump and Republican politicians promised to lower costs. Instead, electric bills are up 12% this year. Why? Their “Big Beautiful Bill” killed new clean energy projects and policies that kept energy prices down.

Killing the fuel-efficiency standards is a lose-lose-lose situation: losing out on $84B in total savings, losing out on 50.4 miles per gallon in fuel efficiency by 2031, & losing out to our foreign competitors who are rapidly innovating in more efficient vehicle technologies.

Trump is selling out Floridians to boost the profits of Big Oil donors. Floridians strongly oppose drilling off Florida’s Gulf Coast - it’s too risky to our economy and way of life.

BTW, it’s an illegal maneuver- Biden Admin adopted a permanent protection that can’t be rolled back.

President Trump wants to expand offshore oil and gas drilling across more than 1.2 billion acres of U.S. waters. Opening up California, the Gulf of Mexico, parts of Florida, and large areas of Alaska to drilling puts coastal economies, communities, and wildlife at risk.
