As a teacher I have been putting in an average of 60 hour weeks for 23 years and I am exhausted. Some years have been much more because of supervising extracurriculars and professional development.

Amy McGrath has 0 support in KY. I don’t think she has talked to anyone besides DC strategists. She pandered to Trumpers in her last campaign why would we think she would fight for us now? Head on back to DC.

It’s amazing how fast they can build a concentration camp: “Alligator Alcatraz”— but they can’t manage to fix a levee, fund a hospital, or get clean water to poor communities.

“Queen & Slim” is possibly the most powerful movie I have seen in years. A cinematographically beautiful portrayal of Black America and critique of US racism, in particular police killings of Black people. Exceptional. Left me speechless. 🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What happens when the US declares war on your parents? The Black Panther cubs know
The Black Panthers shook America awake before the party was eviscerated by the US government. Their children paid a steep price, but also emerged with unassailable pride and burning lessons for today

This is 15 yr old Elizabeth Eckford on her walk to Little Rock Central High. Eisenhower sent the army to protect Elizabeth and 8 other students. At the end of that year AR chose to shut down all public schools instead of integrating. When states are in control of public ed this is what happens.

The news media gave more coverage to the idea Tim Walz retiring from the National Guard after 20 years was scandalous than to Trump's promise to destroy the department of education
This guy could have been our Vice President
NEW from me -
Tim Walz is headed back out on the road – this time, for a tour of House districts represented by Republicans who have stopped holding in-person town halls amid the raucous receptions some of their colleagues have gotten across the country. www.cnn.com/2025/03/12/p...

Here’s an excellent old school video on how to establish a relationship with your elected officials & lobby them more effectively.* In my four decades in Washington, this is the best “how to” lobbying video I’ve ever seen. I’ve used it to train activists across the country.

* Your results may vary.
Calling your reps is only the 1st step. This excellent old Amnesty International advocacy video gives very practical next steps for turning that call into a relationship. It also offers great tips on how to keep the pressure up until you get what you want. This should be mandatory for civics class.
