If you aren’t looking at Minnesota and seeing something that makes you hopeful despite the situation, you’re not getting the right information. You need to be able to use this to steel yourself against the chuds and their propaganda because resistance to them is working and it’s beautiful.

Yes. A state owes some basic duty to its citizens, all of its citizens, including the shitty ones and the ones that live in places inconvenient to the state. We cannot create universal healthcare but only for cities, we cannot have mail but only for cities, we can’t have rights but only in cities.

I want to draw this part out. Once you make the move from “it’s bad that our opponents do [X]” to “since they do [X] we have to do [X] in return or we’re at a disadvantage,” you’ve begun to concede what was supposed to be the whole reason for the conflict.
And for good reason! Not wanting to take these hostages is one of the things that differentiates them from republicans. It can be viewed as a tactical weakness, I guess, but it’s one that has to be managed, not just beaten down or away entirely.

One of my cats has been having stomach issues, and yesterday I got the results I feared. He has large cell lymphoma and won’t live very much longer. And I just want to put out in the universe that Louie is the sweetest boy and doesn’t deserve for his life to be cut short, and I love him so much.
