This is so important. This is exactly what I was getting at in my thread earlier. Talking over and silencing communities because you have an intellectual take on someone’s lived reality is colonial and saviorist and entitled (‘I know better than you’).
Why?
Because the person who silences the object of violence is participating in the continuation of that violence.
It's objectification. It's infantilisation. It's dehumanising rhetric
