The Lexus ad where they show a family over the years & their car goes from a reasonable sedan to a bloated SUV with oversized hood by the end.

It accidentally tells the story of why pedestrian fatalities have been rising.

This may be of interest to the UK cycling community. The driver who was never charged after he killed Mike Hall in Australia on 31 Mar 2017 was just jailed for sexual assault and soliciting an 11yo girl 3 years later.

Lack of consequences!

🇦🇺 Australia is buying Russian oil to circumvent sanctions, - The Guardian.

Energy supplies from Russia are being delivered to Singapore’s Jurong port, which is partly owned by the Australian investment fund Macquarie.

Australia may have received over 3 million tons of petroleum products since 2023

Shegu Bobb gets a sentence of three years and one month, and fifteen of that must be spent in prison.

That’s for the sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl. Not for killing cyclist Mike Hall, which he got away with in 2017.
TWO HOURS UNTIL JUSTICE IS AGAIN ON TRIAL IN CANBERRA

Five days after he killed cyclist Mike Hall on 31 March 2017, P-plate driver Shegu Bobb told AFP offices Adam Potts and Phillip Cantwell in a formal interview that his headlights at the time could only shine two metres in front of him.

I reported a few of them to NACC re the Mike Hall investigation and inquest.

I was told to f*off after waiting the obligatory 9 months. Despite new evidence existing in court documents of police perverting the course of justice.

Justice in Australia is often still born.

The AFP police who "investigated" this crime should be on trial.

“SMO" now is just 2 months shorter than the "Great Patriotic war" 1941-1945 against Germany. At the same time Soviets were almost in Berlin. Russia is around Pokrovsk, town 41km from Donetsk from where they started invasion almost 4 years ago. Thats the perspective.

The US govt shutdown is already the longest in history.
Here's one reason Trump may be quite happy for it to continue - Putin benefits.

Axios reports NATO "allies" are unable to even get weapons paid for. Deliveries of Aegis combat systems, AMRAAM + HIMARS have been suspended😡

The real reason for the extended shutdown?

Trump, I mean Krasnov, working for Putin again.

Two pics of my not wearing a helmet “infringement withdrawal notice” from Victoria Police.

Success!

Not sure if I prefer the pic pegged out with two blood oranges from the market, or the pic on the fridge with my Batman card and the French and ladybug fridge magnets.

You choose.

No. That’s medical insurance. And its massive annual losses are subsidised by state governments.

Real insurance not only covers property damage, but it also has premiums that rise with the risk the driver represents.

It’s time for Australia to grow up.

Mandatory driver insurance, like in the rest of the world except NZ, would help.

But that would be too easy for Australia.

This is happening tomorrow.

Finally.

Let’s see if justice will finally be served after the AFP in Canberra failed the public in 2017 …

(I’m keeping an open mind - unfortunately justice in Australia can depend on which justice you happen to get - not unlike in America.)
