My agent (who soon retired) had the first draft of Lock & Mori for 24 whole hours when Natalie Dormer came out as a female Moriarty on Elementary.
this was my exact feeling when I sold a Lizzy Borden book (MAPLECROFT) and like a week later that Christina Ricci series was announced (no disrespect to our GenX queen, but yeah - go me?)

FYI to artists: I'm told that Discord has updated to add generative AI to its systems that allow users to edit ANY image using AI without permission. As of right now, I don't know that there are opt-outs on this. I'd personally be wary of sharing images on Discord.

I'm old enough to remember all the horrors people used to project onto gay people to justify their hatred and fear. And now I'm watching people justify that same hate and fear against trans people over bathrooms and sports. Because it was never about the horrors. It was always just hate and fear.
