On the other hand, trying to cancel the legacy Disney Bundle (Disney+ Hulu and ESPN) through Verizon is...like pulling teeth!

The context here, of course, is that the “local broadcasters” Carr is egging on are actually huge conglomerates with a pending merger before his office that would give them (and him) vast control over all broadcast television stations

I repeat: This is WILDLY illegal.

Trump is just outright, explicitly, egregiously ignoring the law.

The fact that NONE of these words in the Times post say so is a failure of journalism.
For the fourth time, President Trump extended the deadline for when TikTok had to be separated from its Chinese owner, ByteDance, or face a ban in the U.S. Officials have said they are nearing a deal to address national security concerns about the company and its ties to China.

Hard to forget the social and political moment in DC and in America in 2025.

But the trans and pride flag combos, the Free DC protests and the drag queen performers definitely made the resistance to the actions unfolding really visible.

It may not have happened yet, but in the meantime, we have other things to do (e.g., the Spirit have 2 more games this week and Bakeoff returns Friday). I've also decided to (re)build my physical library. If I have to live through *gestures around* I'm going to do it surrounded by art I love.

Ok so, if we’re in a situation where some American soldiers have to be pitted against other American soldiers, what’s that called?
"scoping out legal avenues to prevent soldiers from overtaking the city"

I really hope that works out. Historically, however — and I expect this to eventually be the case in our present crisis — the only thing that prevents soldiers from overtaking a city is other soldiers.
Chicago's mayor is defying Trump's threat to deploy the National Guard to the Windy City to combat crime, and is scoping out legal avenues to prevent soldiers from overtaking the city.

I doubt a Black reporter could have done this story and been "invited in."

But, apparently, the Times does not consider that this fact may bias their story? How is segregated access "objective?"

Whiteness is a credential often presented as neutrality.
A New York Times real estate reporter interviewed the founder of an Arkansas housing development that admits only white, heterosexual people. “I treated him like a human,” she said. “He invited me in.”
