We went to see @thelibrariansfilm documentary today. It was so good. It made me cry! And then we had delicious ice cream at a place called @andiasicecream

I’ve been under the weather all day with a head cold, and I missed out on plans I was looking forward to. But at least Biro has kept me company all day, and Jeff and I are having a two person listening party to Earthencloak’s new album.

These students are so inspiring!
Last month, it was teenagers who got 8 books banned in a statewide Georgia reading bowl back into the competition. These literary heroes deserve recognition–get to meet three of these rad book-loving intellectual freedom champions.

This is why if you learn nothing else for evidence literacy, learn to look up survey items and read them for yourself and think about how someone might interpret them.
Poll: Americans say “too divided”
Pundit: Dems are being too divisive

Poll: Legal system unfair
Pundit: The public thinks Trump should get away with crimes

Poll: Low trust in media
Pundits: MSM is too far left

Every time they see a nonspecific term and assume everyone thinks like a Republican.
I will never understand the pundit obsession with getting Democrats to solve "political division."

Not only is this what they're already doing, but Klein admits that Republicans will never do the same. So elections will remain constant GOP smears and simping Democratic promises of bipartisanship.

Too real! I spent years cautioning students to think critically about when and how to use Wikipedia, and now I'm like oh good you used Wikipedia. Sigh.
"I’m not looking so bad now, huh? Absolute best case, the LLM-generated legal advice you get is merely plagiarizing, probably from me. But more likely, it’s a mish-mash of Reddit posts filtered through an algorithm coded by a Belarusian teen on the run from Interpol."

It was so fun to see K-Pop Demon Hunters on the big screen! And the big advantage of going to the matinee instead of later in the evening is that we got to see so many little girls singing their hearts out while wearing amazing golden outfits!

This whole thread.

“Oh no, someone might eat food!”

Good. That’s good.

“They might buy something they like.”

Cool.

“They might get a treat!”

Also cool.
There's something deeply disturbing about EBT/SNAP hate to me. Like just truly bone blanching shit.

As DH grows, it’s increasingly important to publish conference papers, but there hasn’t been a clear venue for that.

So I’m thrilled to share this new home for DH proceedings, which will include CHR papers & more.

Thanks to @taylor-arnold.bsky.social for leading this effort!

My library hosted a talk with Percival Everett tonight. He was so funny and charming and incredibly smart. I stood in line to get my book signed, and our comms guy who was taking photos told Percival that I was one of the librarians, and he said “I thought you had a bookish glow about you.” 1/2
