this is one of the few things that crunchy people are 100% correct on
Pretty incredible findings on plastic chemicals in food, from Nat Friedman's Plastliclist report.

1. Boba Guys Black Tea Pearls contain 32,571% of the daily limit for BPA.

I think we are about to see a rebirth of Moral Hazard Politics in the US. A lot of risk takers right now who are growing increasingly unsympathetic even while the going is good. Expect even less sympathy if it goes bad.

Probably important to how macro dynamics play out over the next few years

Truly the most “it’s over” thing I’ve seen in a while
I often think about this: younger people in the US and other wealthy nations are far more likely to have a zero-sum mindset—the idea that someone’s gain means a loss for others—compared to older generations. From our paper on zero-sum thinking (full 🧵 x.com/S_Stantcheva...)

I wonder if Gen X is Like That due to growing up under Reagan or if it was just the lead. If it’s substantially due to the former then I worry that we’re going to be dealing with late-Gen Z hampering us for the rest of our lives since all they’ve experienced is Trump & reactions against him

This outcome is so disastrous that the only real conclusion I can draw is that the presidency was lost from the jump. Like when you have all the money, ground game, base enthusiasm, favorables, etc. Kamala had and still get rolled like this you didn’t really had a chance.

Underrated how influential Slate Star Codex in particular has been in mainstreaming "HBD/race science" and other reactionary ideas among the tech guy class
yeah, the 2014 leaked email was that Scott Alexander had specifically intended Slate Star Codex to promote neoreaction and race science

not a single person denied the email, they were just outraged at the leaker for breaking confidence, Yudkowsky even declared that they should be shunned, lol
