it's weird to live in a world where a new 'worst thing you've ever imagined' happens at least a few times a month and it's easy to let it all run together and just sort of wash over you and go totally numb to all of it so you don't freak out because you still have to do laundry and go to work.

Confession time. And sorry if this is a bit much. But my most unhinged quality is that a tiny yet very real part of me believes that maybe I died in 2015 and I've just been stuck in the bardo ever since.
ever think about how trump and the maga movement have genuinely fucked up the last decade of our lives?

like yes absolutely obama and hillary bad in their own ways etc etc but what if the vibes from pokemon go summer never stopped

wouldn't have been perfect but certainly wouldn't have been this

A Brooklyn-based collective, Artists in Resistance (A.I.R.) NYC, is not only committed to hosting COVID-safer art and music events from borough to borough, but also ensuring that anybody can do so for free.
How an Air Purifier Can Make Your Art Event Safer
The Brooklyn collective A.I.R. loans out the devices under the tenet that “illness need not be the price of living in community or participating in the arts.”

Situating AI's hype, enforcement as a capitalist+fascist response to pandemic, police racial terrorism, increasing economic inequality, @audreywatters.bsky.social: "I always feel the need to remind people that neither robots nor AI are coming for our jobs. But management probably is."

Alberto Morrocco painted this scene when he visited Iceland on a commission to paint President Ásgeir Ásgeirsson in 1966 - they lived in the palace in Reykjavik, where they would dine every evening at the banquet table with Ásgeirsson.

This is making me sadder than it should now that I’ve had time to think about it. I haven’t really been thrifting since before my trip this spring.
Let it go too long in between thrift trips and now I lost my knack. :( Gotta spend this winter building my skills back up.

Just got a call that the org handling our registration for Mon's workshop "had a glitch" w/ the waitlist and accidentally registered 24 ppl for a 15-person workshop. Our support staff member is out with kidney stones AND E Coli. I am teaching painting, one of my weaker subjects. Let's do this?

Found a pile of dog poop in nannying playroom on Monday and decided not to clean it up because this happens too much and it’s not my job. Apparently it’s nobody else’s either because it’s Wednesday and it’s still there. 🤢
