Is Ofcom coming for VPNs?

Monitoring their use through the narrow lens of whether the Online Safety Act is working is shortsighted.

"VPNs can help protect children's security online too, they aren’t just used to avoid content blocks."

Devastated about Jane Goodall. What a giant of science communication and such a champion of empathy, love and understanding for every living being on this planet. If I manage to live my life with a tenth of the integrity and compassion she had, I'll be proud.

Jane Goodall's work insisting, with evidence from her brilliant and tenacious fieldwork, that we were not so separate from animals, and they were much more like us than the Eurocentric theorists asserted, was so important.

So great to finally see this in print! My piece about Arthur C. Clarke's typewriter which is held in the Science Fiction Special Collections in Liverpool. It appears in "Collecting Stories", a volume by @livunipress.bsky.social about objects held in the cultural collections at the university.
