here is my story about how Zohran's focus on community amid the loneliness epidemic helped young people connect their politics to an organizing infrastructure, that interviewed ZM, and does not use the NYT's framing of "they don't know how to make friends" :-) and also ran 4 days before NYT's lol

“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”

Many of the political elite dangerously underestimate how important it is for 30-33 year olds to hear everyone talk about Zohran Mamdani like he is the youngest a person could possibly be. Our youthful 34 year old king. Please continue this narrative, thank you.

When I'm in international public health spaces I'm reminded just how embarrassing and deeply irresponsible it is that U.S. kids don't learn at least basic proficiency in Spanish as a standard part of our education

This is EXCELLENT.
1) this is spot-on analysis of the problem & a great immediate 1st thing a city can do to improve outcome.
2) as a 2 min clip? He's giving history, hope & change. Speaking to women, to Jewish & Black NYers, saying "abortion." & also naming eugenics in feminism. 100/10 no notes.

This doesn't even match the recommendations from the advisory council RFK filled with anti-vaxxers btw.
He also seems to think the MMR vaccine can/should be split into seperate ones? Which I think is a misunderstanding of someone trying to explain to him the difference between MMRV and MMR??

I cannot overstate the number of times I have said "RFK is a eugenicist and people should say so" in every professional & personal conversation I've had in the last 6 months.
It's been true! It's becoming more obvious to more people! More people should say so!

Realizing that the endpoint here is probably massively scaling back screening for autism spectrum disorders, limiting resources for people who need them, but leading to a decline in cases & declaration of victory.

🎯 When Trump said, “There’s no harm in not taking it,” that was incredibly inaccurate, as we know that fevers can cause birth defects and even fetal death.
It’s yet another reason why health recommendations 1️⃣ should come after careful & sufficient study 2️⃣ should come from actual health experts.

The president's recommendations could put children in harm's way.
Even if clinical guidance does not change, pregnant people risk hurting themselves and their children when they run fevers and do not treat them.
This is a completely avoidable & self-inflicted public health crisis in the making.

ACOG reaffirms that acetaminophen is safe for managing pain and fever during pregnancy. No reputable studies support suggestions like those in HHS’s recent announcement linking acetaminophen use in pregnancy to autism; in fact, high-quality studies show no such risk. https://bit.ly/47Wxc59

this is really serious. if it continues, we’ll start to see states make do their own drug labels in some manner, possibly through collabs with other states, similar to what we are seeing with ACIP recs
The label of a drug is close to a sacrosanct document. It represents the trust between the government and the user of the drug that the drug is safe and effective and that all risks and benefits are accurately outlined. Changing it to suit a political agenda is imo an earthshaking matter
