Camden leads where Hackney fails.
Pembury Junction redesign should have separate cycle track. @hackneylcc.bsky.social gave indicative, fully specced designs.
Camden show (at York Way & Agar Grove junction) they know how to build-in safety, whereas Hackney wouldn't.

The situation on cycleway 1 at Whitmore Road is just completely unworkable and it is a travesty the Hoxton LTN hasn’t been designed to fix this. There is *far* too much motor traffic for these cycle flows. Someone is going to get hurt. @sarahwoodberrydown.bsky.social @hackneylcc.bsky.social

The very stretch of road @carolinerussell.bsky.social talked about - 1 woman dead, 3 loosing limbs, all just wanting to get about by bike - has been top of our campaigns for YEARS.

Nothing being done.

How about it ?

More cyclists, even wobbly ones, a good thing!

A surge in 'strikelists' on the commute this week means some folk will continue cycling when strike is over - but "exposes the lack of capacity for cycling in London" says our Head of Campaigns @psimonk.bsky.social

Some of London's most dangerous junctions are at side roads where lots of people cycle past lots of drivers turning. The answer, as we told Global Cycling Network recently, is often LTNs. Now @active-ata.bsky.social evidence: removing cut-through motor traffic saves lives bsky.app/profile/find...

All of the planned bus gate + one-way changes for the Chatsworth Rd LN have begun.

My favourite bit of it is the western section of Clifden Rd. Its one-way has been reversed (+ has contraflow cycling).

Hackney Downs Quietway
Support new crossings for pedestrians & cyclists to connect London Fields with the Dalston LN.
Suggest:
- reducing traffic on Navarino Rd
- chicanes on cycle tracks from Sigdon Rd/Spurstow Tce are unnecessary

Consultation to support: the Dalston LN scheme would substantially improve walking & cycling.
But, the proposed filters would leave a route open for through-traffic from Cecilla Rd to Montague Rd, and the scheme should be adjusted to address this.
