During the night of January 5, Russian forces struck Kyiv and the region. A medical facility in the capital was hit, killing one person and injuring three. In Kyiv region, residential buildings and critical infrastructure were targeted. A man was killed in Fastiv district.

Czech banks are closing accounts and denying services to small arms manufacturers and related individuals because their business involves supplying weapons to Ukraine. Even relative say their personal accounts were shut, and some firms struggled to open accounts for pro‑Ukraine charities.

The mayor of Kharkiv reported that Russia struck the city with two missiles, directly hitting apartment buildings. Sadly, there are fatalities.

"Russia does not want this war to end and every day does everything it can to make the war continue." - Zelensky added.

Former U.S. national security aide Philip Gordon argues that Zelensky should reject the Trump‑brokered peace plan.
