Safe supply would have saved thousands of lives. But the reality is that it’s extremely hard to access, making it unavailable to most people who are struggling, despite what politicians claim.

Health Canada convened an independent expert advisory group in 2020 to provide guidance on safer supply. Health Canada heavily redacted its final report, but unredacted version obtained by CBC shows the expert group said drug crisis is driven by prohibition and recommended expansion of safer supply

Yikes: A tuberculosis outbreak has been declared in inner-city Edmonton. 12 people have gotten sick this year. Two recently confirmed in October, suggesting it's spread.

In Canada, this has changed significantly -- the rich have never been richer and a majority of low income renters live in property that solely exists to funnel profits to shareholders via rents and disrepair.

At the end of the day I'm not sure how much difference it makes. But it is striking to put out a budget that axes a luxury tax on yachts and adds a co-pay for refugee claimants accessing drugs and dental care.
