I am coming around to the view that at least some of the work at this point is to find ways to create (however imperfectly) a microcosm of our vision for the future in our everyday lives.

Which is a big transition for me as someone who long held contempt for what I saw as lifestyle activism

A friend of mine was on Charlie Kirk's "watch list" of Black professors. She received so many death and rape threats that her university offered her a security detail for the walk to class.

This is Kirk's legacy.

You would never know it from reading all of these legacy newspaper op-eds about him.

just saw someone sincerely arguing that they need AI bc they don't have "natural" artistic talent and idk how to make you understand that nobody comes by this shit naturally. it's just...work. it's being bad at it for a really, really, really long time. it's intention, pursued over time! wtf!!!

It's very interesting to watch people with (perceived) power start hating their potential clients. It takes a very special a*hole to decide to turn that hatred into publicly shaming them, though.

I'm not going to stop saying this. We need to stop calling it "deporting." It may not always be fair or humane, but deportation has a process. And it means you're sent back to where you came from. These people are being trafficked and sold to slave prisons. Not deported.

Did he vote to deport you?

Did he vote for your death by uterine sepsis?

Did he vote for you to be trapped when they revoke no-fault divorce?

Did he vote for you to be fired ("DEI hire") &/or lose workplace protections?

Leaving aside "empathy for others" (ha!)--it's always been abusive. +
