In an absolutely unexpected turn of events, and probably the closest thing to a holiday miracle I have ever experienced, this is now closer to $26k thanks to a very kind anonymous donor. I am speechless.
This does put us much closer to being able to continue to do the rescue work we do, but we do still owe our regular veterinarian about $52k. This is from paying about 2/3rds of our vet bills for the last three years while I’ve been largely managing the rescue by myself. If anyone has ideas for -
We’ve officially partnered with UC Davis for specific low cost surgeries and access to a handful of specialists as a rescue. If you’ve been following us for a while, you may already know that this is something we’ve been working towards for years and we are so excited to get to work with them!

If you’re a big fan of our resident blind cat Serafina, this IS the kitten for you. Maelle is basically Serafina’s mini me, and would very much like to demand preferential treatment in a home of her own.
Please adopt her, this place cannot contain two personalities of such tremendous size.

We got a christmas Cat Tree so that we could have a tree that makes everyone in the house happy! Ann loves to sit on every part. Goomba even went in the bottom part! Also, a picture of Frodo being adorable on it.

It’s really cool that people can order stuff on Etsy without actually reading the description then complain and leave one star reviews when it isn’t the item they made up in their minds when they ordered it. The Etsy shop is our main source of funding for the rescue, it really hurts when it happens.

I designed a bunch of alien cat characters based off of planets that I want to sell to raise money for the cat rescue. This one was really me just trying to figure out where to put the rings on Saturn but everyone who has seen this doodle says they just want it to have them all ahhahah

It has been two years since my cat first started having bad health problems. This is a revamp of an older illustration I made as a fundraiser to get him treatment, which everyone very generously supported. Two years on we know he has IBD for sure, it is hard, but he is still going strong!

If anyone's open to a New Year's resolution suggestion, please try volunteering for a non-profit! It doesn't necessarily mean showing up in person to do physical labor. Just think about a cause that is important to you and consider what skills you have. 🧵

I still really need to find local help that can reliably come by regularly to scoop litter boxes, vacuum, and sweep.
I got my MRI results back on my neck and it’s… not good. Best case scenario, it’s going to be a long time before I’m in any shape to resume the level of physical activity necessary.

After like two years of eagerly taking his seizure medication twice a day in churu, Teddy suddenly realized I’d been hiding a pill in it all along and now every day is a battle. He won’t even eat churu anymore, the trust is gone. 😂

We wanted to give Goomba a car cat scratcher for her 16th birthday but couldn’t find a good one. (We already owned a truck one though.) Then something we got came in a perfect box to turn into one. So I got the hot glue and scissors out and turned it into van! Used all recycled packaging materials!

In significantly less sad news, this little man pooped!!
He also got some X-rays and oh man, I am so relieved Michele wanted to take him on because he is a super complicated kiddo. His condition is likely caused by congenital hypothyroidism.

Baby Tokki was one of the cutest creatures I have ever seen and I spent many sleepless nights trying to keep her from dying on us when she first came to Rocket Cat.
