Often found on a golf course (the very nice one in the picture) Scottish & politically left of centre. Unhealthily good at MS Excel. Makes a decent espresso & sourdough pizza (gluten free options always available). 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏌️

Far too many false dawns to hope that anything actually sticks to Trump, but the latest Ghislaine Maxwell twists are fascinating.
If he releases her early despite her court-proven guilt, it looks very like a cover-up attempt.
If he keeps her in jail, she could squeal at any time.
Chess game.

As a licence fee payer, if the BBC which we all fund has a political appointee on the board, specifically promoting a biased agenda, then I demand the government exercise their Royal Charter powers and remove them. Gibb must go. Starmer & Nandy are weaker than homeopathic medicine here. Pathetic.
"Robbie Gibb should have no role in appointing the next Director General, and given the Royal Charter gives the government the power to remove him will the Prime Minister sack him now?" asks Ed Davey.

Starmer says he won't interfere in running the BBC

This is a phenomenal playlist of one of my all time favourite musicians, Michael Brecker.
Just superlative virtuosity. And paired with Jaco on Free Man in Paris, OOFT!

Lewis Goodall is always excellent. This is particularly so.
The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

If the BBC gives one penny of tax payer money to that orange rapist I’m cancelling my license fee and I’m sure I’m not alone in that.

I don't often call for resignations. But Sir Robbie Gibb's role in the BBC boardroom coup makes his continued role there untenable. He must resign or be removed
‘Gibb’s supporters say he is trying to save the BBC from itself; he was also heard last year to say that if he didn’t get his way, he would “blow the place up”.’
“a group of politically-appointed directors has forced the hand of Samir Shah, the chair, and the departure of the two most senior people in the organisation. Their resignations should be called out for what they are: political interference..”1/

The BBC should send Trump a letter signed by Ian Hislop referring him to Arkell v. Pressdram Ltd. (1971)

Easiest defence ever. Play Trump’s speech in full. The edit was misleading but the overall sentiment was correct.
‘appropriately compensate President Trump for the harm caused’
Zero harm was caused. Trump won re-election.
Appropriate compensation = nothing at all. $0

This is the most abysmal, pathetic thing. The BBC head resigning because the corporation is not supine *enough* to the far-right.

Glad that someone has finally taken responsibility for the appalling assault on democracy that was the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Slightly confused that it's the Director-General of the BBC, but what do I know?

If the BBC was able to replace #timdavie with someone of the calibre of Emily Maitlis, we might have a chance of getting our public broadcaster back to some semblance of quality news reporting. Robbie Gibb needs to go too.
November 9, 2025 at 7:13 PM
It would be supremely ironic if Tim Davie’s resignation was truly because of an article which was inaccurate about liar-in-chief Donald Trump. Davie presided over a huge shift away from truly independent journalism & massively favoured right wing politics not left

Hi @bob-p-dj.bsky.social
Hope you can help. I have an old Cheetah Master Series 5V keyboard bought 2nd hand back in the 90s. It came with a bodged together power supply held together with insulating tape. That died a while back.
Any idea where I could source a 9V DC 5 pin DIN to get it working?

Musk getting lots of publicity for his hypothetical Trillion dollar reward package. As with so much that surrounds him, it’s hyperbole. Even if he were to hit those targets, it would be impossible to liquidate that amount of stock without crashing the share price. It may well eventually be worth $0🤞
