The UK has lost £bn in R&D tax fraud. £100m of this was thanks to "tax specialist" firm Green Jellyfish.

They hired unqualified creative writing graduates as "technical experts" and gave them briefings claiming that garden design was R&D.

This is a common complaint from clients who get their knowledge of the CJS from American TV shows. They want the sort of aggressive, never give up, never accept reality type of lawyers they see on TV.

The truth though is that such lawyers do v̳e̳r̳y̳ badly in real courts!

Medieval landlords collected eels in rent, but they also sometimes paid them out.

In the 1250s, the Bishop of Ely had 94 tenants in Tydd St. Giles who had to spend several days each year farming him. And on those days the Bishop owed them each some bread, some cheese, & 5 eels.
