Cool to see Montréal, Québec City, and Vancouver top this 🚲-friendly cities list, showing that sustained investment and long-term policy and planning can deliver successful active transport infrastructure. I hope other cities in NA take note and get to work!

I'm lucky to have visited several wetlands throughout my career. Below is one in Northern BC. Wetlands are important ecosystems, teeming with life, slowing and storing water...to take them in fully, one must sit and have lunch at their side (watch for beavers and moose)

Stop trying to make carbon capture technology happen! We already have carbon capture...it's called wetlands and forests and oceans. So let's protect them!

I've read and heard from European friends that EU has been doing so well ramping up the renewable energy. Please, for the world's sake, say goodbye to fossil fuel energy for good!

If we want energy security, affordable and predictable prices, a lower risk of blackouts and less climate chaos, new fossil gas deals are the opposite of what we need.⁣

Real energy security comes from renewables, not from switching gas suppliers.⁣

Microplastics are everywhere on Earth, from the Sahara Desert to Arctic sea ice. They are now in the air we breathe.

This plastic is not coming from outer space.

It comes from petrochemical corporations and big brands with names and addresses.
Scientists just calculated how many microplastics are in our atmosphere. The number is absolutely shocking
A new estimate suggests land sources eject 600 quadrillion pieces of microplastic into the atmosphere every year

Well said and 1000% agreed. This is why I am frustrated to hear Canada plowing ahead with new LNG projects "for the economy". There will be no economy after a global ecological collapse; something we can all look forward to if we don't change our ways.

Countries that cling to fossil fuels are not protecting their economies—they are sabotaging them. Driving up costs. Undermining competitiveness. Locking in stranded assets. And missing the greatest economic opportunity of the 21st century.

Nations clinging to outdated fossil fuel technologies need to get with the times. The future is renewable energy.

The fossil fuel industry (and its enablers) are responsible for the climate crisis.

Their CEOs receive million pound bonuses from soaring profits, whilst sabotaging climate action and pushing misleading narratives of individual responsibility.

It's time they pay up.

War devastates lives, displaces communities, and shatters societies.

According to @ceobs.org, global militaries are also responsible for roughly 5.5% of total greenhouse gas emissions, more than the entire aviation and shipping industries combined, deepening the environmental crisis.

Data centers target rural communities for lower costs, not to create high-quality jobs, study finds
Local governments often tell residents that the power-hungry developments will bring numerous tech jobs to their communities. A new study contradicted that.
