All violence, all injustice, all oppression is interlinked. How we treat nonhuman animals sets the lower boundary for how we treat each other. The more cruelly we treat non-humans, the more terrible a weapon dehumanization is.
There is no respite for us victims forcibly bred to feed insatiable human greed. There is no reprieve, no amnesty, no reward & no mercy. There is only pain, torture, fear, trauma, disease, separation, suffering & a brutal death at a mere fraction of our potential lifespan

So many of those who recognise the undeniable uniqueness & individuality in companion animals prefer to pretend that the same is not true of exploited animals, because this makes it easier to rationalise their callous disregard for them.
