Days with big sports games are so funny on my timeline, all the accounts that usually refer to states for political reasons suddenly use them for the games going on and I like to pretend they're still talking politically for funny results.

Henrietta Lacks's unique cells have become a pillar of modern science (they weirdly replicate endlessly, any research on cells is easier with them), and you would hope her family would at least benefit from it, but no.

It's been big pharma making massive cash off of her; this must change
Henrietta Lacks’ cells greatly benefited the world of medicine, but her humanity was ignored. Ohio Senate Bill 111, aiming to honor her with a statewide day, is long overdue. We must recognize not only her contribution to science, but the injustice done to her. Truth demands recognition.

I've talked about helping @dylanthomasblaha.bsky.social for my congressional district, but Val for a Nevada state House seat also has my full attention

Nevada is home in my heart but my single mom couldn't quite make it work so we moved

I support this single left-wing mom trying to help Nevadans
I love my state. I have lived here my whole life.

I believe that we are losing this state to billionaires, who view us as a colony to extract wealth from. Year after year, we continue to give away public money to any billionaire who steps in and asks for it. And in return?

A perk of having me as a friend to somebody coming out as trans is I am really really really bad with names

Really bad

Of course I don't deadname, but like, I've already probably forgotten your dead name after a little while, too.

I'm still not over the fact that liberals claimed Alexander Hamilton, very right wing, as one of their own.

Yes shouldn't surprise me but *come on*

Thomas Massie is a very occasional leftist ally; he is very conservative and we fight a lot of it, but honest so you know where he stands, and he stands against Israel deserving guaranteed money from us and for standing up as a check and balance against Trump like his job as a House rep should be
Trump attacks Thomas Massie for getting married: "Anyway, have a great life Thomas and (?). His wife will soon find out that she’s stuck with a LOSER!"

I don't know how to explain "Bubba" was my nickname growing up, I really don't

I decided to learn about Alexander Hamilton, and enjoy the musical if you want, but I'm just a bit mad to that a liberal made a musical to celebrate the legacy of the creator of a right-wing party, it was the left-wing opposition party that believed in freedom of religion, and made him lib-coded

A weirdest side effect of paying very close to politics is I'm forced to remember my past

Bucks County, PA is seen as a weird, special, important place politically with how it still votes very split ticket and is swingy and you'll never guess where I moved to as a teen and developed my depression

The progressive grassroots campaign I've been supporting, the one I even got for an episode in my podcast, has officially MADE THE BALLOT. Down here in IL-13, down in central Illinois, I'm supporting @dylanthomasblaha.bsky.social

If aliens are real and we get into a huge space society, our contribution to it all from Earth may be the Michelin Star system for restaurants

One star means worth stopping in as you pass by, two stars means worth a detour, three stars means you can plan a vacation for it, that's PERFECT for space

My character development is years ago I would never have considered using laundry beads before meeting my wife but now I absolutely love them, they really keep clothes feeling absolutely fresh for a while until I'm ready to wear them.

It's incredibly annoying knowing where Dick Durban, who voted for this and is retiring after this term, lives in my city (state capital, yo) because it's rather nice, I wouldn't mind having a house there, he's retiring next to the park we had my wedding reception in because I really like the park.

Bernie Sanders got into congress winning what was originally seen as a safe GOP seat, and helped shift the historically Republican Vermont into a blue state, by putting the focus on the people truly responsible for our problems.
We need to stop fighting between left and right and start fighting against the real problem: the 1%’s war on working people.

They want us to hate each other. They feed on our anger.

It’s time for working people to take this country back. America belongs to the workers, not the billionaires.

This one slipped through the cracks, but week, Bucks County, PA, voted for its first Democratic district attorney since the 1800s.

Bucks County is where the mythical Republicans who sometimes go Blue live, which usually goes Dem president but insists on a GOP House rep.

We'll see where this leads!

I truly believe Colorado is a libertarian state first and foremost.

When it was deep red it would think about freedom of the wealthier and all their "hard earned cash"; now they consider the freedom of children and how they have more if we get what is spare change from the wealthy to help them.

Forget getting rid of daylight savings or making it permanent

We should just have every Sunday be 25 hours long, there are no potential consequences from this.
