It's impressive how contemporary projects' budgeting practices in Canada are made of very thin actual analytical estimates based on quantities and unit prices on top of which there is an entire enormous castle of random percentages of percentages of percentages which are suspiciously multiples of 5.

Drivers never look for pedestrians when they leave parking lots. We need raised crosswalks or speed bumps to be standard.

Today, I submitted 456,365 Albertans’ signatures to Elections Alberta, petitioning the Premier to do the right thing, avoid a divisive and economically harmful referendum, and allow MLAs to vote and reaffirm that Alberta’s future is in Canada.🇨🇦

Successfully or not, one of the inspiring things of Lukaszuk's leadership is that we can't just sit on our ass expecting things to change.
Bitter sweet… There are no more #ForeverCanadian petition signing locations. We are now gathering all petitions and tabulating the results.
Tomorrow, at Elections Alberta, we will announce the number. But it’s not only about the number. We built a movement, a community of hope.

Covid-19 vaccines, credited with saving millions of lives during the pandemic, set off a powerful alarm that rallies the human immune system against cancer and nearly doubles the median survival length of patients, according to a new retrospective study.

Just have agentic AI hallucinate errors in a veterans service record, automate eliminating their benefits, and then pay the overworked staff nothing to correct the errors.
I don’t like job losses anymore than you. However, I believe that if technology can deliver services more effectively and efficiently at a lower cost to taxpayers then it would be better…

#yeg bylaws should require secure parking in all new buildings over 8 units.
Now that I live here, something I want to advocate for hardcore is proper bike storage facilities. They should be all over, take parts of the tons of parking lots and build climate controlled facilities complete with full secure access, great racking, etc. That and a city run bike share! #yeg

Anyone who thought voter turnout was going to be low, doesn't know my neighbours in Inglewood. We're in a very long queue, outside Colonel Walker School (built in 1911). Peace officer just went in and we are wondering if it's getting spicy inside. My neighbour just came out: 1h 10 min to vote. Sigh.
