I saw Lighthouse in concert July 1, 2013 in Collingwood. Amazing energy! The setup allowed you to walk behind the band, so I stood and watched Skip drum. Phenomenal technique! Later, I Learned that he was instrumental in establishing the CRTC and Canadian content regulations. 😳👍

Little Loki, almost 12 years old, was diagnosed w/ right sided congestive heart failure in early August.

Lost a bunch of weight & it wasn’t looking good. Since then, he’s rebounded.

Hanging out & looking for some lovin’ as I listen to Lighthouse Live at Carnegie Hall.

Answered a marketplace ad - laundry basket of vinyl for $100.

Nice old lady looking to unload “old records.“

Lots of Glen Campbell & Bobby Vinton & KTel compilations.

BUT …

Lighthouse Live!! Santana III. Couple others great ones including a pristine Anne Murray debut.

Found some gold!!

What's at the root of the UCP's use of the notwithstanding clause?

Our @partyloyalty.bsky.social research suggests hyperpartisanship is playing a huge role.

The locker room mentality in the UCP caucus is encouraging MLAs to cede even more power to the premier's office.

That's bad for democracy.

Yep. And I don't want to like this post now that admin has offered a moderate costs of living in increase that comes at the cost of our rights, such as:
- removing the ability to appeal merit increments from our annual reports
- forcing us to cross the picket lines of other union employees

Again, the UCP is an American-style "States Rights" organization being run by a bunch of wannabe separatists.

This one's made it under the radar so far.
The #UCP faithful demand a provincial oath of loyalty from elected officials to challenge the federal Crown.
I guess by doing so, AB law to override Constitutional authority?
Just another day in #Alberta!

“Should the Government of Alberta end its current practice of allocating public funds to accredited independent (private) schools?”

Given Smith's use of the Notwithstanding clause, I want a referendum on this

“A lot of people worked for a long time to achieve measles elimination status, and to lose it in one year because of a failure of government action … for a disease that’s totally preventable, it just makes me sad.”

“I think they should be embarrassed. ... I think they owe an apology to Albertans”
A former chief medical officer of health for Alberta says the provincial government should be embarrassed by the role Alberta has played in Canada’s measles outbreaks and loss of the country's measles elimination status

The UCP’s excuses for using the notwithstanding clause — “because we can,” “because we have to,” and “because we say so” — do not meet Lougheed's standards.

“Our city leads the world in documented severe frostbite cases.

Reported amputations due to frostbite reached an all-time high of 110 cases in 2024 in Edmonton. This is more than five times higher than the average over the preceding 10 years, and three times higher than Calgary.”
Edmonton has had a disturbingly high number of frostbite amputations the last two winters. With freezing temps on the way, both the City and the Government of Alberta must do more to prevent people from freezing in the cold. edmontonjournal.com/opinion/colu... #ableg #yegcc
