Trans people have existed since before the West was even a concept like there’s simply no way to pretend that we do not exist or that we are not valid. Indigenous cultures around the globe had multiple genders. That white majoritarians don’t like those facts don’t make it untrue.

It never was about those things, but it has never been this blatant.
I tend to stay even-keeled about this stuff. I am not alarmist, I report the news as accurately as possible.
But the language is scary. It is precisely the dehumanizing language used to justify atrocity.

Everyone should be aware of the line that has been crossed in the Trump trans military EO.
No longer is this about "evidence," "science" or "protecting kids."
Now, explicitly, black and white, it's about trans people being "liars," "dishonorable," "false."
It's a big step towards very bad things.

CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NM, NY, OR, VT, and WA also offer refugee protections for trans people, though MN is by far the best rn.
I know that not everyone is able to move or flee, but just wanted to make sure people knew that MN is a trans refuge state in case it helps someone out there.

where I work wants to pivot away from using DEI language and they’re asking the DEI committee to come up with alternatives. I tried bringing up the directive “do not obey in advance” and mentioned my discomfort but they’re viewing ending the use of DEI language as “adapting” and “being flexible”

The Executive Order on Native Ed, which included Tribal Colleges, has been rescinded in the first sweep.
This took SO much time, energy, effort, simply to bring to fruition.
